On behalf of A Bank, I am delighted to extend my heartfelt wishes as we welcome Myanmar New Year.

As we usher in a new year, we are pleased to welcome a new team of high calibre senior executives who will steer growth and help build a high-performing, highly engaged organisation: Daw Mi Mi Sein as Chief Executive Officer, U R Yudh as our Board of Directors Executive Chairman, and U Zaw Lin Htut and U Ye Myat Soe as Executive Vice Chairmen. 

Handing the reins to seasoned banking professionals is part of our long-term strategy for sustainable growth. By clearly delineating the management function from company ownership, we are ensuring that A bank is run independently, efficiently and professionally with world-class standards and corporate governance and board composed of four banking professionals, three entrepreneurs-shareholders, and two non-executive independent directors.

A bank (“Ayeyarwady Farmers Development Bank Public Company Limited”) was founded in 2014 with the aim of providing financial services to farmers as well as to small and medium enterprises. Good governance, transparency and fairness are deeply entrenched in every aspect of our operations as a public limited company.

From being humble regional bank financing the agriculture sector in the Ayeyarwady region, A bank is now one of the top banks in Myanmar. We believe that the best is yet to come: With our new management team, A bank is set to reach greater heights, not only in terms of growth but in governance, as we take one significant step closer to being a publicly-listed company and a leading digital bank with our A+ wallet mobile application.

During the past year, we are proud to have achieved important milestones, such as expanding our branch network of 41 branches throughout the country and growing our employee base of about 1900 strong team.
